At Vertical Energy Partners — we’re an extension of your team. Our role doesn’t stop once a contract is signed. We provide ongoing oversight, market analysis, and contract management to make sure your procurement strategy continues to align with your business goals. We’re compensated by the supplier through a small portion of the uplift built into the rate you agree to.

What is the difference between my local utility, supplier, and Vertical Energy Partners?

Your local utility is responsible for the physical infrastructure to deliver natural gas to your business. By default, the utility provides both the energy and the connection, "bundled service". Suppliers offer options for the purchase of natural gas commodity that allows you to take control of your energy. Vertical Energy Partners (VEP) will be your guide to select the best supplier and procurement strategy tailored to your needs.

What is Uplift?

Uplift is the difference between the spot market price of gas and delivered price to you. It includes the legitimate costs to deliver gas reliably to your meter, such as: Storage and balancing - Pipeline transportation, and fuel costs. Risk premiums for locking in fixed pricing Credit and administration expenses — Consultant compensation (that’s us). By understanding how uplift works — and what’s in it — you gain clarity. We don’t represent any single supplier. We represent you — that’s why we source options, compare offers, and stay involved throughout your contract term.

Will my relationship with the utility be damaged if I switch suppliers?

No. In most states across the US there are programs that govern the criteria and qualifications for your energy purchase options. VEP is your partner each step along the way, and will work closely with your utility and supplier to verify eligibility and ensure a smooth transition.
